Triple-Duty Bodyguards
by Lily Gold
One celebrity diva in trouble. Three overprotective bodyguards determined to keep her safe.
As one of the world’s most hated celebrities, I’m used to unwanted attention. But when I wake up one morning to find a mysterious man has broken into my house, I know I need security, fast. Enter “The Angels”, my three ex-military bodyguards:
Glen, the Scottish sweetheart with the scarred face and gentle hands.
Kenta, the long-haired soldier with the tattooed skin and secretive smile.
And Matt, the blue-eyed, bad-tempered leader haunted by his military past.
Having three gorgeous men guarding me 24-7 sounds like a dream come true, but it turns out to be a nightmare. They’re always here, watching me. Caring for me. Protecting me. They tell me to ignore them and go about my business, but I can’t even think with them so close. The spark is too intense.
On top of that, we don’t get on. They think I’m a demanding diva. I think they’re overdramatic. When a trip to America sends the guys’ protective instincts into overdrive, the sizzling tension between us finally breaks, and I learn my bodyguards’ butterfly-inducing secret: they want me.
All three of them.
Meanwhile, my stalker’s behavior is becoming more and more alarming. He’s photographing me through windows and following me in the shadows. With the premiere for my next movie coming up, will my three bodyguards be able to keep me safe from his clutches? Or will my terrifying pursuer finally get his deadly way?

This was a book that I had saved multiple times on TikTok from different videos, lol. And I still didn’t choose it for the moment, but a friend said she was jumping in and I was like: BUDDY READ! And I’m not sure that I’ve had a book turn out so well.
Briar is a celebrity that has a stalker. After a horrifying incident, she hires these three bodyguards (they work as a team). Briar is known for being bitchy and difficult and all of the worst celebrity titles, but nonetheless, she is in danger, so the guys take the deal. Very quickly, from inside Briar’s head, you just understand. This story basically follows these guys dealing with her stalker while they all fall in love.
BUT.
This book has some HEAVY themes and they are done SO WELL. And I don’t mean heavy-dark necessarily. I mean, heavy-emotionally and socially. The author’s TWs are perfect. This book deals with victim shaming. It deals with sexual harassment in reverse - a woman harassing a man and traumatizing him from it. It deals with PTSD - both soldier-related and sexual-situation-related. It deals with misogyny and the double standard between men and women in a lot of situations. It deals with how our looks affect our perceptions of ourselves and others.
And I appreciated how EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WERE PRESENTED.
Characters…I’m not going to break the guys down too much because how they operate is a lot of the story.
Briar might be one of the strongest FMCs I’ve ever read. This woman. Fuck, this woman. If you can speak to her like a person, she will listen to you. If you can listen to her like she’s a person, she will speak to you. If you can’t…well, if you can’t, she will eviscerate you, call out your bullshit to your face and to the world. She will not be controlled. Even when you know she’s saying something she shouldn’t for her own safety, you’re standing there going, “She right, though.” I loved her. I loved her willingness to say what she wanted. I loved her ability to show her softness. I loved how fierce she was. Honestly, she doesn’t have friends in this book and it makes sense why, but for other like-minded, strong-willed women, Briar would be the ULTIMATE best friend. Cause she’s going to have your back.
Kenta was brilliant and the most understanding and reasonable MMC I’ve read in so long. He was beautiful. He recognized that Briar had been taking care of herself, that she was capable of handling hard things, that she was stronger and kinder than anyone wanted to give her credit for. He was strong enough to bow to her and still be able to hold her up when she needed.
Matt brought the challenge and the playfulness. He brought the witty-banter and the safe place for her to be bitchy and sassy, which we obviously all need sometimes. Matt is absolutely the most man’s man of the group. Matt has his own set of issues though and watching his friends and Briar dealing with them helped the story become so much more than just a smutty novel.
Glen. **Sigh** We all know I have a thing for the strong, silent guys and Glen was my main squeeze. Lol. Glen’s heart is so fucking huge. While Matt’s issue is with himself and the world and so deep, Glen wears his on his face. Glen makes Briar feel safe and lovable in a way that she’s never even imagined was possible. And if Kenta was the one cheering Briar on because he knew she could do anything, Glen is the one standing with his arms open telling her that even if she can’t manage, he’s got her back. He will never let her fall too far.
This is the first RH that I’ve ever read where all the guys are GOOD GUYS. None of them are alpha-holes in the sense that is common in these books. This is the first RH that I’ve read where the story was absolutely as important as the sexy moments - on a level much deeper than just a story, too.
Read this one.
-SPOILERS-
So after all the dark books and the bad boys I’ve read recently, I was really scared that I wouldn’t be able to get as invested or as “into” gentler books anymore. This book dispelled all of that. Briar and Glen’s first experience together had my heart going bonkers and my body begging to just live that moment. Then we get to the Kenta scene, and I cannot even explain the amount of enjoyment I find in female-dominant scenes. Kenta being into her bossing him around and absolutely surrendering to that, even begging…geeze. Then, Matt letting her be as sassy as she wanted as he fucked her against a window…I’m here for it.

“Ever since I walked in on you with that toy inside yourself. Jesus.” He touches his forehead to mine, panting. The muscles in his arms quiver, veins popping out as he holds me upright and keeps stroking between my legs. “I thought,” he dips his head and sucks a kiss on my neck, “I thought it would get better with time, but it’s just getting worse. Every day, it’s getting worse. I can barely think when I’m near you.” He puts his mouth by my ear, tickling my oversensitive skin, and slides a finger into me. I cry out and dig my fingernails into his scalp, making him growl. “My body doesn’t even feel right without yours anymore.”
