Ella has finally broken out of her gilded cage, but with her limited life experience, she doesn’t trust her instincts. Especially when it comes to the handsome Scottish pilot who plucked her from the jaws of danger. No way is she going to stumble upon Mr. Perfect right away.

Gordain's military career is in freefall after a night he doesn't remember. His burning need for his best friend's younger sister is surely a knee-jerk reaction to his problems. He should walk away, yet he cannot say no to the lass.

When her evil uncle seeks to destroy Ella's happiness, a wedding is the only way to save her inheritance. Gordain is the only man she’d consider asking. But can he fake-marry someone he truly loves?

The third instalment in the Marry the Scot contemporary romance series takes you away to big love in the splendor of the Scottish Highlands. You'll adore this modern-day hot Scot and his delicate and determined musician.

TikTok book! This book is the third in the series and while you’d have more background if you read the other two first (those characters are very present in the story), I had ZERO issues keeping up.

This book threw me for a loop on how to describe it. It feels like it should’ve been an age gap but it’s not. He’s 22 and she’s 18. He’s experienced in bed and the world (he’s had a traumatic life and now is in the Royal Air Force-where he’s currently going through some legal issues). She’s a virgin in bed and was kept secluded from most of the word, save for girls from her polishing school. She’s also had a traumatic life. He is her brother’s best friend - but that’s not really a keep-’em-apart factor. He basically just doesn’t think that she’s lived enough romantically to choose him. She doesn’t think that she’s been free long enough to know her own mind. So they go about this dance of liking each other but can’t be together until finally they are. Then, in order to REALLY be free of her evil uncle and stake her claim on a building bought with her inheritance, they run to Las Vegas to get married. They both think the other is unhappy about it. No one is really unhappy about it. They figure that out and they’re both happy about it. They eventually resolve the rest of the issues and live happily ever after.

Ok, so it sounds pretty cut and dry, but also, it felt disjointed. Like things were thought up separately and then written in. I don’t know. And I still can’t describe how the book FEELS. It’s serious and a little lost. It’s got sweet moments, but ultimately, it doesn’t feel sweet. Maybe that’s it. The characters just feel lost the whole book which left me feeling lost as to how to feel about it. Both characters were likable enough. Gordain was a good guy. Ella was an innocent girl. I think her wanting to use Gordain as something temporary was really the only time I was mad at her. Just because she was unsure of her own mind doesn’t mean she had the right to treat him like he wasn’t going to matter. It was odd.

If a book could feel like weather, this one just felt like a gray, drizzly day. You appreciate it for what it is, but you don’t crave them often.

-Not on Callenge-

“Do you want to come?” So much it hurt. With my face burning, I gave a tiny nod, and Gordain grinned wickedly. “Then let me help ye out.”
